Process Data Analysis with Alanda

by Frank Alsmeyer last modified 2008-08-12 12:52

Many engineering tasks involve the analysis of process data obtained from a running process. Alanda helps you to use data to improve process performance.

Gain Insight into Process Behavior

Tasks such as troubleshooting and improving process performance often start with gaining insight into process behavior. Use our tool Alanda to easily identify normal and abnormal operating conditions.

Based on wavelet algorithms Alanda supports

  • reading data from various sources (Excel, Matlab, PIMS, OPC),
  • denoising data,
  • screening of operation periods, and
  • finding trends (like drift) or steady states.

Improve Model Development

Preprocessing data is important to develop high quality models.

  • Directly export results to desired applications.
  • Remove dynamic artefacts to improve data-driven models.
  • Use reliable steady states for data reconciliation and rigorous models.

Optimize Online

Identifying steady states is a critical step in applying optimization technology on a running process. Alanda can directly connect to an OPC server and automatically send steady states to your optimizer.

Alanda integration

Alanda

Alanda is based on a prototype developed at Process Systems Engineering (AVT.PT, formerly LPT). It is fully integrated with the Windows operating system and provides interfaces to important tools and standards such as MS Excel, Matlab, or OPC.

Further applications

We provide expertise and support related application areas such as

  • PIMS compression tuning,
  • analyzing process potential, or
  • drift detection (catalyst deactivation, fouling)
